J.C. Woodworking

Hand-Made Furniture, Reclaimed Lumber,

and Early American structures

J.C. Woodworking is the result of my love and passion for everything old.  This business began as a furniture business and has grown, through inquiries by our own customers, into a business involving almost every aspect of Early American buildings. Although I personally no longer build furniture, we do still carry a line of rustic barnwood furniture. My days are now spent locating high quality structures and materials from the 1700-1800's.  We are fortunate to be based in Pennsylvania, which houses some of the most beautiful and oldest structures in our country. I have had a natural curiosity for things of old since I was a small boy. In our hurried society, it is a great blessing that I have found a career which allows me to visit a simpler time and place and focus on my passion for history.

"The pioneer's love of wood and his skill in using it, as well as surviving examples of it, are fast disappearing. To try to revive and understanding and adoration for wood seems as hopeless as trying to bring back the horse and buggy.  But to revive the eloquence of those times is indeed worthwhile"

-Eric Sloane, American Barns and Covered Bridges
